February 8th: 9:30 am–12:00 Sewing Group meeting and fabric cutting
At the Pueblo West Library, room A, we will have a short meeting to discuss what we may want to make together at future meetings; Carolyn Gregg will show her Christmas ornaments made with fabrics and trims. This project may be a great choice for something we can do as a group and can easily include members who don't sew.
After the meeting/demonstration, we will cut fabrics for reusable grocery bags focusing at this time on two patterns, one utilizing regular weight cottons or poly blends, one best made with heavy cottons / light canvas / upholstery fabrics. If you’ll be staying to help cut fabrics, please bring your scissors and rotary cutter. We will have at least 3 cutting mats. It would be helpful to have a few more.
FABRIC REQUEST: If you have fabrics to contribute to this project, please wash/dry/iron and bring it to the Feb 8th meeting: minimum cuts of 24”X44” (2/3rds yard) or larger would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions please contact Karen Summers; her number is in the PWWL roster.
PWWL February Membership Meeting
PWWL Monthly Membership Meeting, Tuesday February 14, 10:30 a.m., at the library, Room A. Nominations for Woman of the Year will be accepted and voted on. New fundraising ideas will be presented. Please bring canned soups and/or dry soups (ones that just need water) to this meeting; these soups will go to the Ecumenical church to stock their food pantry.
Lunch Bunch-TBA
